Akumal Beach and Wellness Resort, Akumal, Mexico
This was our first trip with our little one, Rishi. Rishi actully really did good at the resort.
Our room was oceanfront with the Jacuzzi. I guess all rooms at the resort were oceanfront and had Jacuzzi.
The setting of the hotel is really splendid. This resort is open air. It is very beautiful. If you allow yourself, you will leave home at home. There are places everywhere with comfortable seating to enjoy a drink and conversation. There are snacks provided with drink service. There is a coffee bar set up for very early morning beach walkers. They have really done with shaded walkways, smooth transition from one section to the next, this resort makes sense. I have been to others that felt like a maze that didn't "work", this resort got it right. They have Bali-beds around the pool, beyond relaxing and comfortable, it's a an hour nap waiting to happen, shady, breezy, it's awesome.
I'm sure the colorful and beautiful postcards from the caribbean must be from Akumal.
The staff were very nice and friendly. The food at the Buffet and the a la carte restaurants especially the oriental was well prepared and delicious. There is a breath taking view at the sushi bar. We would enjoy a drink at the bar and order fresh made, cold, very nicely prepared sushi and sit and stare out at the beautiful sea. Shady and inviting, it was a nice addition that I have never seen at another all inclusive.
The pools were clean and there are lounge chairs by the smaller ones, and the Bali beds by the main pool. We went in a couple of pools briefly but spent most of our time at the beach. The pools were always clean and a little on the cooler side.
The free WiFi was available all over the resort and on the beach. I had a few issues sometimes where it would drop out but good enough for intermittent use. Besides you're on vacation.
There is a room service menu, we never ordered. There was never a need for room service due to the options of meal times, and snacks readily available. It may be handy for late night arrivals but still there is a an open air 24 hour snack bar.
If you visit Akumal, you must visit this resort and start your perfect vacation here!
