Royalton Riviera Cancun Resort & Spa, Cancun, Mexico

We got a warm welcome and cool drink on our arrival. We had booked presidential suite at the resort, although from what I could see most of the rooms at the hotel are luxurious and pretty much the same. Our large room had a king bed and pillows comparable to any upscale Westin hotel.

The room also had a Kitchenette, a living room, two bathrooms, large Jacuzzi tub and shower, double sinks, a 50-inch HD TV, balcony overlooking the ocean and various pools and a Jacuzzi in the balcony. The air conditioning worked perfectly, rooms were extremely clean and sound proof. The daily cleaning was excellent with plenty of fresh towels, and soft drinks and water in the room fridge.

Food and beverage is excellent. There are a pile of bars featuring brand name liquors and wines and enough restaurants to satisfy all tastes. Authentic Mexican, Italian, Japanese, a Steak House. Our favorite was the Marche that serves breakfast lunch and dinner. Its buffet style and the quality, quantity and presentation of food are truly amazing. None of the restaurants require reservations other than the Japanese Grill. There are still some issues to work out with length of service in some of the restaurants. Overall the food far exceeds any all -inclusive resort I have every stayed at.

Royalton has invested more in top end lawn furniture and cabanas than many resorts invest in their entire hotel. The pools are simply stunning and flow seamlessly through the property. The children’s area has its own water park.

I caught two of the evening shows on the central stage that borders the central pool. The Caribbean style floorshow with the Latin band was excellent.

Overall this is an incredible property and its manager could be seen almost constantly on the property speaking with guests.

Every business is about service and you cannot say enough about the hard working, courteous and proud Mexicans who work at this resort. No shortage of employees and smiles.

I would highly recommend this property to others who desire a luxury vacation at what currently is a true bargain.
