Iberostar Selection Playa Mita, Puerto Vallarta, Mexico

We recently returned from our first trip to Punta de Mita. We stayed at the Iberostar for two weeks.  The beautiful facilities and choice of activities make the Iberostar an ideal resort, but the most outstanding feature is its wonderful staff. We would like to acknowledge all the people who, once again, made our vacation such a memorable experience.

Our breakfast waiter, always got our morning off to a good start with his warm smile and attentive service. They brought us cappuccinos as soon as they would saw us arrive at their station.

The Kids Club staff were amazing with all the children. Each one was warm, patient and nurturing and kept the kids engaged and happy. We enjoyed a lot watching the enthusiastic staff leading the daily activities.

Weather was absolutely fantastic. Quite how the hotel coped with the “once in a lifetime” hurricane in 2016 remains a mystery. If it did rain it was at night.

Room was perfect. Oceanfront on the second floor as far as possible from the lobby (the sound of the surf is soporific).

Bars were an easy choice, the roof top bar with its sunset views wins hands down. It was never crowded/noisy, despite the best efforts of some wedding parties.

We had no problem booking the a la carte, the buffet is exceptionally good. Couple of evenings when the service in the buffet was “stressed” but that was at weekends when the number of children increased exponentially.

Beach- wonderful stretch of sand, ~0.5 miles to the left & ~2 miles to the right, perfect for gentle exercise. Surf persistent, occasionally rough – young children excepted, perfectly safe if you don’t go beyond the 2nd/3rd wave - & plenty of hungry fish to swim around you if you take bread/rolls and stand still for 30 seconds.

We also want to acknowledge all the staff involved in the housekeeping, maintenance and upkeep of the resort. Their hard work is truly appreciated.

Thank you, Iberostar Staff, for all that you do to make all your guests feel welcome. Your genuine warmth and outstanding service made us feel like family and we can’t wait to see you again.
