Sunscape Akumal Beach Resort & Spa

What a great resort under AMR management. 

We were located in the oceanfront room. Very spacious.

Your mini fridge is supplied with pop, beer and water, the only thing that gets refilled is bottle water every day.

The beach is beautiful it's a combination of sand and coral which allows for an assortment of fish to be around. There were a few stingrays that we got to enjoy.

Near the family pool, be prepared to see the peacocks, iguana, agouti and the white-nosed coati they bring a sense of being local even thou you're on the resort.

We used the kids club and there were many children in there having fun they even escort them to the buffet to have dinner so parents truly have respite.

There is so much entertainment during the day in a different location, from yoga to a movie on the beach, to water polo, to bingo, to kayak tours and many more.

There are no cards for the beach towels its just grab and go which they replenish all around the resort. There are lounge chairs or beds that are accessible on the beach.

The children's pool has so many accessories for the children that they become exhausted from all the excitement and fun.


I truly appreciate how all staff always greeted you no matter the time of day, reminding us to slow down and greet each other which can be missed in the fast pace of North America.


The ice cream at the coco cafe is one of the best I have tasted., top favorite strawberry, coconut or lime.


This resort is great for families, there is something for every age to do and it is not too stimulated with those indulging in alcohol there no rowdiness. It is a great balance for everyone to enjoy. I met many couples that were enjoying their stay even with children around.
